About SIFER

Welcome to SIFER ! Norway has three regional centres for research and education in forensic psychiatry and psychology; in Bergen (Helse Vest), Oslo (Helse sør-øst) and Trondheim (Helse Midt og -Nord). This website is a joint venture project  between the three centres operating as a national network for forensic disciplines in Norway. Our aim is to represent the best in research and education in forensic services in Norway.

Brøset Centre for Research and Education in Forensic Psychiatry

Welcome to the Brøset Centre for Research and Education in Forensic Psychiatry.
The centre is located in Trondheim, Norway and  is one of four sections at the Brøset Psychiatric Hospital, which is one of the more remote sections of the St. Olav's Hospital in Trondheim.
The research centre is responsible for research and development in the field of forensic psychiatry.
Focusing areas are risk management and prediction, risk associated with severe mental disorders, including sexual crimes and sexual violence.
The centre works in a multidisciplinary environment, consisting of employees from different disciplines with expert expertise within their field.
